What Is AKWATEK ?

A unique and revolutionary patented process applied to fiber, yarn or fabrics of 100% polyester (both for knits and woven's) creating a high performance fabric to help the body manage it's moisture and control its internal temperature, thus reducing thermal stress on the body.

  * Is not a coating - The process brings about a permanent change to polyester
* Will never wash off or wear off
* Leaves no chemicals - or chemical residues on fabric
* Acts as an extension of the skin - Improving thermal regulation
* Does not have to be close fitting - or next to the skin to do its job
* Thermal regulation in that it adjusts to the body's needs, providing cooling properties in HOT conditions and warming properties in COLD conditions

What AKWATEK fabrics Do ! !

Whether Knitted or Woven, AKWATEK fabrics

  * Transport perspiration off the body - And Through The Fabric To The Atmosphere More Efficiently
* Strong - Bursting Strengths Up To 154 (ASTMD-3787)
* Provide maximum soil and stain resistance without chemical coatings - 5.0 total stain removal: Soil release (Stains of coffee, Sweetened Tea, Mustard, Ketchup, Cooking Oil.) [AATCC-130]
* Do Not Shrink
* Do Not Fade
* Do Not Pill - Provides for less pilling from wash and wear that cotton and especially cotton blends. 5.5 random pilling test (60 minutes)

On what fabrics can

* Interlock - A fashionable knit used for turtlenecks, crew necks, and polo shirts
* Yarn - Treated to create striped fabrics, collars and welts, and to make sweaters, socks and caps

A Leading Physiologist Examines Akwatek
  * "In periods of physical stress (and mental stress, causing increased physical stress), the less compatible a fabric is to the body's heating and cooling system, more critical energy is required to be expended by the body to overcome the inadequacies of the fabric."
* "Akwatek transports moisture electro-chemically and thus is self adjusting to the body's thermoregulatory needs."
* "Akwatek fabrics work with the body's heating and cooling system - - not against it-thus helping to reduce thermal stress."
* "Thermal regulation is the single most expensive metabolic process in terms of energy expended that the body performs."

Solar Protection and Akwatek Fabraics
  * AKWATEK fabrics achieve exceptional SPF ratings in both knits and wovens, far exceeding the ratings of similar fabrics of natural and blended fibers.
* "AKWATEK treated fabrics, both knits and wovens provide maximum UV blockage. May exceed the highest rating of 50+ while affording maximum breathability."

AKWATEK Care Factors - Wash & Wear
  * Washing - Washes in normal cycles - with regular detergents
* Drying - Reduce dryer cycle times. AKWATEK items will dry very fast.
* Easy Care - AKWATEK need only be folded or hung up after drying. No ironing is needed.

A Leading Producer of Medical Textile Fabrics After Subjecting Akwatek Fabric To Severe Medical Launderings:

Laurence P. Mayer, Ph.D Physiology and Thermal Regulation

  * "After 80 medical washings and dryings (including autoclave) Akwatek fabric still had instant absorption and transportation of water."
* "175 washing were completed and AKWATEK remained totally effective."
* No other polyester treatment for hydrophilicity had this degree of wash durability."
