Twisted Rope - Natural Fiber

Manila Rope
Manufactured from the strongest natural fibers available of the abaca plant grown in the Philippines . Manila rope provides low elongation at maximum working loads and under sustained loads. All manila rope provided by FSP meets federal specification TR-605B TYPE M. We offer three strand construction, put-up on 600' coils and 1200' coils.

Sisal Rope
Similar in characteristics and versatility to manila rope. Sisal rope is manufactured from the agave or sisalana plant grown in Mexico and South America . Although sisal ropes offer approximately 80% of the strength of manila rope, the rougher "hand" makes sisal an economical general purpose rope which holds a knot well.

Cotton Rope
Cotton rope is manufactured from the finest industrial grade cotton yarns and cotton blend yarns. Cotton rope offers a "soft" hand and is put-up on a medium hard lay. this rope is spec'd to federal specification TR-571 in both CLASS I (natural) or CLASS II (copper treated). Available on 600' or 1200' coils or spools.

Solid Braid Cordage
Solid braid is constructed from 9 or 12 carriers (strands), interwoven together. Solid braid has a smooth surface, holds its shape under load, and also knots well. It is available in different fibers covering a variety of applications, and can be made with a wire center. Solid braid can be supplied in bulk, on spools, or cut to length.
Nylon Solid Braid
Is the strongest of the synthetics in this construction. It has good elasticity and is resistant to chemicals, rot, and mildew. Its many uses include flag halyard, starter cords, and winch rope. Available per U. S. federal specification MIL-C-43307.
Polyester Solid Braid
Is almost as strong as nylon, but has less stretch and is resistant to abrasion. Like nylon, it is chemical, rot, and mildew resistant. It is used in many of the same applications as nylon, but where a lower stretch factor is needed. Available per U. S. federal specification MIL-C-43256.
Cotton Solid Braid
Is commonly referred to as sash cord. This product is available with a synthetic core for added strength and can be supplied with or without a polished finish. Its uses include window sash cord, awning cord, halyard, and general utility cord. Available per U. S. federal specification T-C-571.
Multifilament Polypropylene
Is a lightweight cord that incorporates the qualities of polypropylene with the feel and knotability of nylon. This versatile cord is excellent for tiedowns, horse halters and leads, and halyards. A wide range of colors are available.

Polypropylene Twine

Polypropylene twine is an all around inexpensive tying twine. It is resistant to water, oil, rot, and abrasion. The twine is packaged in convenient center pull cartons weighing approximately 10 lbs. each. There is a wide range of sizes available, which will provide a larger twine for more strength, or a smaller twine with a greater yield per 10 lb. carton. The twine is available in either a 1 ply or the stranded 2 and 3 ply constructions. It is a popular twine for use at lumber yards and hardware dealers for tie-down cord, and makes an excellent baler or binder twine in certain applications.

FSP offers its cotton in both twisted and cabled construction. Popular uses include wrapping, tying, fishing, chalk lines, and trot lines. Put-ups are available on cones, tubes and balls.

Elastic Shock Cord
FSP offers elastic shock cord manufactured with a multi-strand rubber core, for long life and consistent stretch. The jacket, or cover can be made from nylon, polypropylene, or cotton. The stretch factor can be altered to provide a varied degree of stretch factors to fit your specific needs. Elastic assemblies made with hooks, terminal fasteners, loops, rings, or your specific hardware can be made to your specifications or drawings. The cord is supplied on spools, in cut lengths, or made into assemblies. The cotton covered cord can be made to meet specification MIL C 5651, both types I or III.

Diamond Braid Cordage
Diamond braid cords are braids constructed of 8, 12, or 16 carriers (strands), braided in an over and under pattern. This pattern gives the cord a diamond pattern noticeable on the outside of the product. Diamond braids can be made with a center core of varying fibers, or can be coreless. Braids without a core are easily spliced, and are commonly referred to as "hollow braid". Available in bulk, on spools, and cut lengths.
Nylon Diamond Braid
This is an extremely versatile braid with many uses. The most common construction is an 8 carrier jacket with a center core. Depending on the tightness of the outer braid and the type of core used, diamond braids can be designed to fit many applications. This type of braid is used extensively as a starter cord. Other popular applications include drawstring cord, venetian blind cord, awning cord, lacing cord, and pull cords.
Polyester Diamond Braid
This braid is used in many of the same applications as the nylon diamond braids. Polyester is used when a lower stretch factor is needed in the finished braid.
Cotton Diamond Braid
Is not as strong as the synthetic braids, but is used in many applications where superior knot holding is required. This braid is used extensively as awning cord, traverse cord, clothes lines, and drawstring cord.
Polypropylene Diamond Braid
This braid when constructed from monofilament yarn is most commonly referred to as hollow braid. This is a very strong, economical cord with many uses. It is used as ski tow rope, barrier rope, tie down rope, winch and anchor lines, lanyards, and rope handles.

Miscellaneous
